オランウータンとは、マレー語で森の人（Orang=人、Hutan=森）を意味します。
オラウータンは果物を中心に食し、糞として果実の種を森に撒き、
森が育まれるサイクルを作り出しています。
この作品のカラフルな色は果物や森の植物を表現し、足元の木はオラウータンが作る森をイメージしました。
The word “orangutann” comes from the Malay language, meaning “person of the forest” (Orang = person, Hutan =
forest).
orangutanns primarily feed on fruit, and through their droppings, they disperse seeds throughout the forest,
creating a cycle that nurtures its growth.
The vibrant colors in this piece represent fruits and forest vegetation, while the tree at its base is inspired
by the forest that orangutanns help to create.

オランウータンの食す果物を鮮やかな色彩で表現しました。
特徴的な長い腕がぶらりと垂れ下がる姿で、どこかゆったりとしたオランウータンの性格と時間の流れを表しています。
複雑に絡み合うひとつひとつのピースは、長い体毛を思わせる造形となっています。
そして、木の上に立つ姿は、森の中で生き、自然を守り育む存在としてのオランウータンを象徴的に表現しています。
